File Sharing Do’s and Don’ts

 Okay, here are the first things you need to know.

1. Limewire has been corrupted
2. Kazaa has been corrupted
3. All programs listed on THIS page are suspect!
4. There is NO “safe site” to download free stuff from.

 Q. What does corrupted mean?

 A. Corrupted means that due to high traffic at these sites there is a high level of   Adware, Spyware and Virus activity.

 The RIAA has even seeded corrupted Music files into these networks.  When you download from these sites you are bypassing all the security measures on your system and putting your computer and personal information at risk.

Q.    So how can I download music and stuff with Minimal risk?

        A.    There is a format called BitTorrent that allows people to trade files directly.  So far this has been  a safe and quick method to download.

 I recommend a program called Torrentopia it is fairly easy to use and quick.
